COMMITTEE FOR SYNAGOGUE RECONSTRUCTION STANDS
A good two months ago, the SPD parliamentary group leader Raed Saleh presented the first drafts of what the new synagogue on Fraenkelufer in Kreuzberg could look like. The Jewish church was badly damaged during the pogroms on November 9, 1938. After it was demolished in the 1950s, only the side wing remains. On Tuesday, Raed Saleh invited guests to his office in the House of Representatives to announce the composition of the Board of Trustees, which is expected to take the first steps towards realizing the reconstruction later this year. The list includes personalities such as Friede Springer, the Governing Mayor Michael Müller or Ole von Beust and Gregor Gysi.
